Cookies maintain authentication. Access to media depends on the user’s role and assigned player.
The public website
A first-party technical cookie remembers your analytics choice. Google Analytics and its cookies load only after acceptance. The site uses no advertising cookies or localStorage to track visits. Images, styles and scripts are hosted locally. The screenshot selector runs in memory and resets on reload.
The banner gives accept and decline choices equal prominence. Ignoring it is not consent. Change your decision through “Cookie preferences” in the footer. New tracking or embedded services require a fresh assessment and prior consent where applicable. Aruba hosts the public site; the portal and local app are separate services.

Google consent mode is used in its basic form: the tag is loaded only after analytics acceptance. Declining leaves the site usable. Advertising consent remains denied. The choice is not automatically extended to the portal or players. Clearing the preference cookie or changing browsers may bring the banner back.
To withdraw consent, open “Cookie preferences” and decline analytics. The page may reload to stop an already-loaded tag. See Privacy for recipients, data and retention.
Portal and player sessions
Technical authentication cookies contain neither photos nor a plaintext password. The following concerns the service, not the public website.

These cookies are HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict. On Connect they are also Secure and sent through HTTPS; local control uses HTTP. The local server session renews with activity, while the browser cookie retains the stated lifetime. Not every session survives a service restart. The portal is at app.fotovent.it; the former service IP remains for compatibility.
Cookies and local files are different
A cookie identifies a session. It does not give a site unrestricted access to your computer or photo library. FotoVent handles selected uploads and content already imported into its data folder. Authorised administrators can manage that content and download Desktop originals; this is a role permission, not a generic cookie consent. App data folders, licences and configuration files are not cookies.
Cloud browser players
The portal also authenticates Cloud management. On play.fotovent.it the browser stores technical pairing information to recognise the monitor later; this is not advertising storage. Authorised content may be preloaded. Clearing browser storage may require pairing again and does not delete the Cloud archive. Only selected uploads and assigned content are processed, not arbitrary disk or photo-library files.
Manage your choices
Sign out and use browser settings to clear cookies. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent authenticated access. Deleting cookies does not delete accounts or media on the player; contact the relevant controller for those requests.
