FOTOVENT / Network requirements for Desktop, Connect and Cloud

Check the network
before the audience arrives.

Desktop, Connect and Cloud use the network differently. Test the route your files and controls will actually take.

Local access

Phones and the Desktop player must be able to reach each other on the same network. Allow inbound TCP 4310 for the app on a trusted private network. Guest Wi-Fi client isolation can prevent access even when devices share a Wi-Fi name. Do not expose port 4310 to the Internet. Local access uses HTTP.

Connect

The player opens outbound HTTPS and secure WebSocket connections to app.fotovent.it on TCP 443. Port forwarding is normally unnecessary. Authenticated proxies, TLS inspection and WebSocket filters can block the connection. DNS and an accurate system clock are also required.

Cloud browser playback

The monitor must reach play.fotovent.it over HTTPS, together with the service endpoints and authorised media URLs. Cloud requires Internet; do not assume that a TV browser provides reliable offline playback.

If Internet access drops

Desktop continues playing media already on the computer. Connect remote controls and uploads become unavailable until connectivity returns. Local access can still work if the internal network is working. Use wired networking where possible and prevent the computer from sleeping.
